Our Story
Since 1952
Blackstone Manor was founded by Alexander Beaumont, a visionary hotelier who believed that true luxury lay not in ostentation, but in the careful orchestration of small courtesies. The property had stood as a private estate for seventy years before Beaumont purchased it in 1952, restoring the Georgian mansion and adding a modest east wing to create what would become Connecticut's most celebrated hotel.
Over seven decades, the Manor has hosted world leaders, celebrated authors, musicians, and discerning travelers who understand that luxury is felt before it is seen. The commitment to that original vision—quiet elegance, unhurried service, and personal attention—remains unchanged.

Our Design Philosophy
Each room reflects the principle of "negative space as luxury." We have chosen to provide fewer, more carefully curated amenities rather than overwhelming guests with choices. Every surface, fabric, and fixture was selected for durability, beauty, and the feeling it evokes.
The interiors were conceived by London-based designer Patricia Mears, who spent six months studying the original 1952 bones of the house. Her vision honors the past while introducing contemporary comfort—all without announcing itself.
